Steam Cleaning

A Job worth doing is a Job worth doing well, the War memorial on Budleigh Salterton Seafront considering its location has weathered really well, but needed a good clean.
We were able to quickly and effectively clean with a gentle steam clean from the very top removing years of growth and bird droppings 

From the front

The Dartmoor granite used in the memorial is very dense and once steam cleaned the results were really impressive. In the photo you can see the top cross section has been cleaned but not the lower part of the cross.

The cleaning process has safely removed all growth from over the years without a single chemical. The other added advantage of steam is the memorial is left almost dry to the touch once finished.

Base Block and lettering

This picture highlights the different of a single pass with the steam cleaner, not only has all the gorwth been removed, the granite is left looking like new after all these years. 

The lead lettering with the older lead based paints had weather very well, as none of the lettering needed any renovation work other then paitning. Lead letters can often lift and become loose and lost over time. Thankfully this wasn't the case and it all remains orginal
